Choco是一只非常特别的水豚,牠非常聪明并且具有创意。

    • Thank you very much for the link. It is interesting that the destination for these 10 capybaras has been made public. The destination for Choco, Cookie and the other capybaras from Nagasaki Bio Park and Aso Farm Land is secret.

I have friends in China who are looking for Choco.

I am determined to find Choco. Choco was such a special and intelligent capybara.

I think the company which bought Choco is a Japanese company which trades in wild animals. I wonder how many Japanese companies trade in wild animals?

Thank you very much for your help. I am very grateful to you for your help. If you hear anything else please let me know.

  1. Hi,I‘m Chinese and I live in china now,I’m also a capybara fans. Maybe i can do some help. But i think it’s hard for people to watch capybara very closely in the zoo in china, not to metion to recognize her toe(in china, only few zoo have the opportunity for people to touch and observe them very closely). If somebody find the capybara with any lucky, maybe it is hard to negotiate with the zoo……So forgive my asking, but can i know what will you do next if somebody find Choco?

    • Thank you very much for the information that it would be difficult to recognise Choco at a zoo in China because most people would not be close enough to see his foot clearly.

I have friends in America who have a farm with capybaras, Mara and other exotic animals. They have offered to give Choco a home.

If Choco was at a good zoo in China and was happy I could let him stay there.

He was such a special capybara, so clever and intelligent, I want him to be happy.

I want to go to China to look for him myself, but I injured my foot so I have to wait for it to heal, which is very frustrating.

Do you know what sort of enclosures capybaras in China live in? Do you think they have a good life? Do you think the keepers love their animals? I apologise for all the questions!

I would love to meet you one day. I am at Nagasaki Bio Park every day until the end of September if you were thinking of visiting the capybaras there.

      • I am glad to help you. Maybe compared with big zoos in japan, the circumstance in zoos in china is not that good, I guess. In my opinion , zoos in Japan such like Nagasaki Bio Park, Tokushima zoo, Izu Shaboten seems very good (at least in the video) for Capybaras to live . So I’m astonished and sad to read the article which you metioned that the situation Choco have experienced.
For example, In some big zoo (which have a lot of rides ) , I heard the Capybara live close to broadcast system and shinning led light which calls to much attention but is a kind of shock for Capybara. The most important is, they live without water or just a little water. This kind of zoos is noisily, they just want to make money.
And recent years animal café is becoming popular in China, which is also not friendly for animals. The air quality is bad and the animals did’t have enough space to live. Hope Choco is not there. Young people and childen watch the Vlog, videos about Capybara, but most of them just curious about it, think of it as a cute, exotic animal, try to buy and raise it without learn, that’s terrible.
        Pictures about animals café:

But still have a certain amount of zoos in china , as far as I know, is good and professional. About the enclosures in zoos , I can show you some informations I know. This is a post which people show the photos they have taken in zoos in different place . You can see the circumstances and enclosures roughly:

I don’t know what kind of zoo the Nagasaki Bio Park choose to sent Choco to before. Do you have ways to ask the staff in Nagasaki Bio Park? Or just make other arrangement to know what kind of place they send Choco to, the zoo, café or for personal use? I think it’s hard but I think I can do a little help if you give me enough information.
I’m sorry to read the situation about the injury of you and sincerely hope you will get well soon. But I’m sorry that I have no time to visit Nagasaki Bio Park this year. Maybe next year or someday in the near future. ^_^ If there is any need, contact me or sent the mail at any time.I write in English unskillful but I’m trying to. My e-mail is huamt900802@hotmail.com.
